A water life saving rescue robot. Used for all fields in the private and public sectors, from a public swimming beach to an oil rig.
To implement the concept and design of a water life saving rescue robot.
We can currently use the technology available to us today to make this a reality.
A drowning occurs somewhere in the world every two minutes, that roughly equates to 400,000 every year. Most of these drownings happen in environments and during activites unsupervised by lifeguards.
A great majority of drownings occur in circumstances where the victum has no intention of going in the water.(source: U.S lifesaving Associations, International Life Saving Federation).
In already excisting life saving equipment the person in need has to be able to use the equipment him/herself or rely on being rescued by other people. In both these life threatening senarios the rescuing process is often not fast or precise enough, also the water/ weather, night/ day conditions will make it difficult to succeed.
This robot will automatically be able to register an activated distress signal directly from the person/s in distress. Locate the position of the person/s, using both an EIPERB and Global Positioning System. Reach this position in a short amount of time, rescue and return to base.
The users are both land(eg.beaches) and sea based(eg.working areas), for example:
offshore industry, oil platforms, sea windmill farms, fishing, shipping, oceanliners,
military, and expeditions.
